Notify Modules of shutdown

Nov 14, 2010 at 6:17 PM

I need a few of my modules to be notified if the user attempts to close the shell. Does Calcium have such hooks in place already?

Tony, there's a work item for this, but nothing has been done yet.

That work item seems to be for when a module is unloaded. What about the shell itself? I have a module that sets up a service bus endpoint with multiple threads waiting for incoming messages. If the user closes the shell, my module doesnt know to shutdown the endpoint so the app stays running.

So my question is, wouldnt it be enough just to send an event through the event aggregator from the shell that all interested modules could receive and perform their own clean up?

Thanks, Daniel!
